Born December first nighteen hundred and seventy four to a loving
family from Whittier, Ca Larry always had big dreams of getting into the film business. “Times were tough,” says Larry “my parents scraped to make it comfortable for my siblings and I.” Always sacrificing Larry’s parents bought him is first video camera when he was 12 years old. “That is what changed my life.”

Larry made a series of short movies with his new love (the video camera). “My friends and I would just shot anything and everything we could come up with”. Mainly staying in the horror movie genre Larry and his friends come up with mock commercials, do school project and even made a short horror movie trilogy. But in two short years it was all over. Larry found a new outlet.
In the summer of 1988 Larry discovered his passion for music. Playing drums in more than eight bands in 12 years Larry put his passion for cinema on the back burner. It was until the year of 2001 Larry would get his hand on something so powerful it would bring him back into the world of movie making forever.

“I was really into recording music and with the technology getting cheaper I decided to by a Mac to do some home studio recording with.”
Even before Larry could get his hands on multitrack software he was in love with iMovie. Armed only with a mini-dv camcorder and imagination Larry was back in the saddle again. “ I really enjoy shooting footage but cutting came more natural to me. I’d just find the zone and just go for it”

In the year of 2002 Larry hooked up with Laurie Lee Goretski. She told him about the film The White Room she was working on. “I asked if I could see it and she said yes eager to show me what was done so far. I was blown away. For a low/no budget film it is as good as it gets.”

Excited about the film Larry offered to do a teaser trailer for Laurie. After seeing the teaser Laurie made Larry a part of EMP Productions team as the EPK. “I enjoy working for Laurie it has been great. I really do think this is the begging of a beautiful relationship.”

Working on a Final Cup Pro system now the road is wide open for Larry Cota. Weather it be making movies or music Larry has a passion for the art of entertainment and there is no holding down.
