Leesa
began acting at the age of eight, and decided it was her life's
calling by the age of twelve.
Classically trained at Cornell University, she received
her BA in Theatre Arts in 2000.
After
graduating she decided to throw caution and a $120,000 education
to the wind to experience the life of a carnie.
She spent the next few years earning her living primarily
as a singer and actor at fairs, carnivals, and festivals around
the country. During this time she picked up many unusual
skills such as trick hula-hooping, stilt-walking, and burping
on cue.
Finally
tiring of life on the road, she settled permanently in Los Angeles
in the fall of 2002, where she is currently pursuing a career
in film and TV. Since coming here she has been in several
independent films, television shows, and commercials, as well
as numerous plays, for which she has received outstanding reviews
from the LA area press.
She is a company member at the 30-year-old MET Theatre
in Hollywood.
She
is currently learning to play the drums because she thinks chick
drummers kick ass.
