Fun
and Informative Facts About Scott Emerson
Scott
Emerson is a Los Angeles area composer, performer, and teacher who
gets an enormous kick out of playing around with sounds. He is not classically trained, but has been fortunate enough
to study with a number of interesting musicians over the years (including
master jazz composer John LaBarbera) and has been described by his
mentors and peers as "fundamentally weird."
This is largely due to his amoeba-like ability to absorb
and assimilate any tasty particles of music that may happen to float
his way, allowing him to freely experiment with a myriad of styles
and approaches without being a slave to any one of them.
Hence, he has developed a knack for producing eclectic, unusual
music and a keen ear for atmosphere and mood.
In
recent history, Scott has scored a Discovery Channel documentary
entitled "Crying Wolf - The Mysterious World of Munchausen's
Syndrome" and is currently producing music for ESPN's "New
American Sportsman." He is new to the world of film scoring, but would like to bring
his unflinching, relentless dedication and rock-solid work ethic
to as many projects as he can possibly handle.
He is therefore issuing the following open appeal to every
single filmmaker on the planet Earth:
"Please hire me to score your next project. I'm a tremendously fantastic composer."
When
not being propositioned by filmmakers, Scott enjoys writing radio
jingles and library music, studying mathematical theory, hiking,
fishing, watching terrible movies about zombies, doing the occasional
odd public performance, and writing about himself in the third person.
